Internet experts warned me that this oil filter could starve the engine of oil causing a catastrophic failure. One use even blamed a lifter failing on their use of aftermarket filters. PNW. From the owner's manual for 2022 WRX: I love how Subaru is forced to push 0W-20 in North America, but still puts "proper quality and viscosity" before "fuel economy". In other words: use higher viscosity oil if you want long engine life. (See my recommendations in previous comments.)
Jul 8, 2020 · The Fram Titanium or Ulra being 99% at 20 microns is number one in terms of high efficiency. I would run either Boss or Titanium on my car. The regular Purolator One is 10,000 miles at 99% plus at 20 micron for half the price of the Boss. Shop around, Amazon has the "Boss" for my application on sale for $8.18. Subaru filter doesn’t need much explaining. It is the OEM filter, made by Tokyo Roki in Japan. Toyota filter is the OEM filter for the GR 86. The GR 86 has a 2.4-liter engine VS the 2.0 in my WRX.
